The Auto Rifle is the starter gun of the game given to your character by default and cannot be sold. As the starter gun it is easy to use and versatile because of a high rate of fire and effectiveness at any range. Although it is quite weak, it is able to score headshots which taking into account the rate of fire, can be quite deadly.

There is a lot of potential behind this weapon with it's headshot capability, but many players choose the Mag-rail Proto below rank 55 (or when the Pro version is unavailable) instead for the power.

This weapon is widely used because of its reliability. It sprays a good deal of bullets in a short period of time, which makes it ideal for honing in on fast-moving foes. Limited firepower counters its ease of use - it takes quite a number of bullets to eliminate an opponent. However, once upgraded, it can be a very formidable weapon.

StrategyEdit

Headshots headshots headshots !

The Auto Rifle's greatest asset is the ability to do headshots. Only "Bullet" Weapons can register headshots effectively. ie. Mag-Rail & Ripper. Other guns can register headshots, but they are much harder to pull off, giving this basic gun an advantage over the advanced guns. Shooting the opposing player in head with the Auto Rifle will deal much more damage than hitting them in any other body part. In the lower levels, this is not difficult as players tend to stand still. However, the power of headshots has been reduced slightly as helmets are now stronger. [1]
The high rate of fire means this gun can dish out damage very fast and can gun down players with headshots very quickly.

Getting the Damage Amplifier powerup is recommended considering the weak firepower.
